Therapy for Individuals, Couples, and Families with Adult Children

Hi, I’m Shannon Hoffman, and I offer individual, couples, and family therapy with a focus on deepening connection, healing old wounds, and fostering authentic relationships. Whether you’re navigating the dynamics of your family of origin, reimagining your partnership, or exploring your identity, I provide a warm, affirming space to do this work.

I bring a collaborative, systems-based approach to therapy—meaning we’ll explore the cultural, relational, and generational systems that have shaped who you are and how you show up in relationships. I draw from Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Bowenian Family Therapy, and the Gottman Method to tailor our work to your unique needs and goals.

I especially enjoy working with couples of all relationship structures. Whether you’re feeling stuck in communication patterns, moving through a life transition, or simply wanting to feel closer, I’m here to help. My role is not to take sides, but to support each partner in feeling heard, understood, and empowered to grow both individually and together. In non-monogamous and poly relationships, I work to affirm all voices while cultivating clarity, consent, and care within your chosen structure.

As someone with a deep appreciation for the influence of early family dynamics, I also work with adult children and families of origin to process long-held patterns and build new ways of relating. I’m especially attuned to the impact of divorce, family rupture, and intergenerational narratives on adult identity and relational health.

I practice from an anti-racist, fat-liberating, sex-positive, and anti-colonial framework. I welcome all identities and relationship styles and strive to create a space where you can show up fully and safely. My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens in connection, with ourselves and with others.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Developmental Family Sciences from Purdue University and a Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy with a specialization in Sex Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. I am currently working toward licensure under the supervision of leaders in the field.

My role is to offer an unbiased, challenging yet affirming perspective to support your process. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings warmth, clarity, and a deep respect for your journey, I’d love to connect.
