I earned a master’s degree in couple and family therapy with a specialization in sex therapy from Thomas Jefferson University and completed my clinical training at Council For Relationships in West Philadelphia. I learned through these experiences to use a systemic lens in therapy; in addition to considering diagnosis for individuals, I take into account a client’s experiences of family, culture, trauma, microaggressions, gender, sexuality, economic class, governmental policies, political affiliations, geographical location, sexual histories, relationship structures and more. With a background in human development and family science, I bring an understanding of human experiences across the lifespan. I believe that growing up and aging brings new triumphs and difficulties at each stage in life.
My style is friendly, focused, and encouraging while striving for understanding, respect, and competence. I take an integrative approach to therapy by pulling theory and intervention from Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Contextual Family Therapy, Bowen Family Systems Theory, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I help clients make meaning of their experiences, identify their relational patterns, and empower them to make changes
