MFT (they/she)
I am a therapist supporting individuals, couples, and families of all ages and backgrounds as they explore understandings of themselves and their relationships. I am down-to-earth, non-judgmental, and frank in style. I balance care with necessary challenge. Although I specialize in certain areas, I’m a generalist—I enjoy working with whoever walks through the door, complete with all their surprises and complexities. My ideal client is curious and willing to look inward, even if tentatively.
My therapeutic framework is rooted in systems theory, meaning I consider not just the individual, but everything that has shaped them: family, culture, trauma, politics, pleasure, race, gender, sexuality, dis/ability, class, and so on. The approach I take to this work is collaborative, relational, and integrative. I draw from multiple schools of psychotherapy to develop a personalized and flexible approach for each case.
Choosing a therapist is part intuition, part informed decision. If you have questions or think we might work well together, feel free to reach out.
Some areas I explore with clients include:
- Disability (lifelong/acquired; visible/invisible)
- Grief and loss (ambiguous/non-death; death; dying; bereavement)
- Paraphilia and non-normative attractions
- High-conflict couples
- Communication issues and relational distress
- Low desire, desire discrepancy, and rekindling intimacy
- Exploring kink/fetish/BDSM
- Developing assertiveness and self-advocacy skills
- Issues related to anxiety/stress, self-worth/self-esteem
- Men’s issues/exploring masculinity
- Issues related to life cycle transitions, identity transitions, and aging
