BS - Intern Therapist
Hi there! I’m Emmarose (she/her), and I’m a Marriage & Family Therapy intern passionate about helping individuals and partners connect, grow, and thrive. Whether you’re looking to reignite the spark in your relationship, explore your sexuality, or navigate life’s challenges, I’m here to create a space where all parts of you are celebrated.
As a proud queer woman, I know how important it is to feel seen and understood in therapy. I approach my work with curiosity, compassion, and a good dose of humor because healing doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. Relationships can be messy, but they can also be beautiful—and I love helping couples uncover that beauty together.
In therapy, I’m a direct communicator. I believe honesty and clarity are essential for growth, and I’m not afraid to gently (but firmly!) challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. Sometimes the biggest transformations happen when we’re willing to try something new, even when it feels a little scary. At the same time, I’m here to give you the patience and grace that you deserve. Good things take time.
My sessions are collaborative and client-centered. I believe you’re the expert on your own life, and my role is to guide, support, and sometimes push you toward deeper self-discovery and growth. I integrate systemic, sex-positive, and narrative therapy approaches to help you and your partner feel more connected, understood, and alive in your relationship. Experiential therapy has a special place in my heart because of its ability to help unlock repressed emotions and allow clients to feel for the sake of feeling in a safe, supportive space.
My specialties include:
- Non-monogamy, polyamory, and open relationships
- Self-esteem, self-compassion, and reconnecting with one’s inner child
- Exploring sexual identity and self-expression
- Reinvigorating intimacy in long-term relationships
- Gender-affirming life transitions and sex for trans folks
- Exploring kink, BDSM, and alternative erotic interests
- Internalized homophobia and transphobia
- Building trust after breaches or challenges
- LGBTQIA+ relationships and dynamics
- Enhancing communication and conflict resolution skills
- Emotional expression work and experiential therapy to access numbed or repressed emotions
- Unmasking Autism and navigating late-in-life Autism diagnoses
- Embracing radical authenticity and living in alignment with your true self
I’m especially passionate about working with queer individuals and couples, helping them create the authentic relationships and lives they desire. I aim to provide a welcoming, affirming space for all identities, and I’m sex-positive, kink-affirming, and trauma-informed in my practice.
If you’re ready to shake things up, challenge yourself, and deepen your connection to yourself and your relationships, I’d love to work with you. Let’s make therapy a place where you feel empowered to laugh, cry, and grow.
